You can update centre preferences for an eligible active IrishDrivingTests.com order through its account settings, within the plan's centre limit. The current preference editor also supports earliest date, available days and time preference. Updating independent monitoring does not change your official RSA appointment.

This is useful when your instructor's availability changes, you move or an alternative centre becomes practical. Make the edit around a real change in your arrangements rather than repeatedly replacing centres out of frustration.

Decide what has changed before editing

Perhaps your instructor can no longer provide a car at one venue. Perhaps you now have access to an alternative car near another centre. Those are clear reasons to review the shortlist.

Write down the new centre and why it works. Confirm travel, vehicle use and preparation. If you cannot explain how you would attend, adding the centre is unlikely to improve the search.

The RSA centre directory can help confirm the venue and licence category. Check the booking label carefully where an area has more than one centre or a venue has moved.

Use the settings for the relevant order

Sign in to your service account and open the preferences for the order you want to update. Check that you are looking at the current search, particularly if you have used the service before.

The centre selection must stay within the plan's limit. Notify currently supports up to three centres, while AutoBook supports up to five with optional booking authorisation under the terms. You can choose fewer than the maximum.

If a centre is not offered in the current selector, do not substitute a similar name and assume it refers to the same place. Use a supported option that matches your plan or ask for clarification through the service contact route.

Review the other preferences at the same time

A new centre may involve a longer journey or different instructor availability. Check the earliest date, available days and time setting rather than changing the location alone.

Your earliest date should still be one you can genuinely attend. If you already have a booking, it should also make sense in relation to the earlier appointment you are seeking. Keep the current official details accurate.

The current editor does not provide a verified hard latest-date filter. If your search is limited by a work or travel deadline, keep that constraint in mind when reviewing an opportunity and choosing the level of booking control you need.

Your official booking stays separate

Editing our monitoring preferences does not move your RSA appointment, change your application address or secure a slot. Manage official booking changes through MyRoadSafety using the RSA's guidance.

If you find a date yourself, update the service information so the monitoring does not continue around an appointment you no longer hold. The two accounts should describe the same practical situation even though they perform different roles.

Do not cancel an official booking merely because you removed its centre from the monitoring shortlist. Removing a preference means changing what you want watched, not deciding the fate of an appointment you already have.

Check that the saved search reflects your intentions

After saving, review the centre names and other preferences in your account. A quick check can catch a mistaken label or a day left available from an older schedule.

If you are using an optional authorised booking arrangement, take particular care that every selected centre and date is acceptable. Notification-only monitoring leaves you to review the opportunity personally before making the official change.

Our earlier driving test service is designed around a practical shortlist. New customers can compare the current plans; existing customers should manage the relevant order rather than assuming a second purchase is required for every preference change.

A useful edit improves the match between monitoring and your real availability. Keep a brief note of why you changed the selection so you can revisit it sensibly if circumstances change again.

For example, replacing an inaccessible centre with one your instructor now covers could make the search more usable. Replacing three familiar centres with distant names based on an old waiting-time table may do the opposite.

Check whether the change affects anyone else's arrangements. An instructor may still have a preparation lesson planned around the old centre, or a family member may have agreed to provide a car for that location. Tell them what has changed before treating the new preference as ready to use.

If you are unsure whether an order is still active or which settings apply, check its account status or contact support. Editing preferences is not a reason to assume a completed service has restarted or that a new official booking has been created.

Preference-editing questions

Does changing my monitored centre move my RSA test?

No. It changes the independent monitoring search. Official appointment changes must be made through the relevant MyRoadSafety process.

Can I exceed the centre limit when editing?

No. The selection remains subject to the current order's plan limit: up to three on Notify and up to five on AutoBook.

Should I review dates when changing centres?

Yes. Travel and instructor arrangements may change, so review the earliest date, available days and time preference together.

Should an existing customer buy again just to edit preferences?

Use the relevant order's account settings first. Do not assume that each centre-preference change requires a new purchase.
