Keep the local option at the centre of the search
For many Bantry learners, Skibbereen is the practical first choice in this comparison. Wilton is a broader Cork option to consider if your instructor can support lessons there and you can arrange the car and test-day plan. The point is not to select every venue on a map, but to decide whether that wider option is truly usable for you.
The RSA Cork centre finder lists Skibbereen and Cork (Wilton) with current venue and category details. RSA's regional table names them as separate centres. Use the booking choices available for your test and confirm that each selected venue is right for the car category you need.
After choosing your centres, IrishDrivingTests Notify can email you when it finds a suitable earlier appointment. That lets you stay focused on preparing rather than returning to the booking system again and again. For a Skibbereen-centred search, visit our Skibbereen cancellation service.
What the August figures represent
The August 2026 CSO/RSA table publishes invitation-wait estimates for Skibbereen and Cork (Wilton). These estimates describe the wait for an invitation to book, not an appointment date. Notify email alerts are separate and help you hear about earlier appointments that match your preferences.
Decide how much notice you need and whether you could prepare at Wilton if an appointment there suited your date. If Skibbereen is the only venue supported by your instructor, keeping the search focused can be more useful. You can change the centre selection to reflect your actual plans.
Start with Skibbereen and Wilton (Cork) selected, then tailor your choices. When a Notify email arrives, follow the MyRoadSafety link to review the date and centre and claim the appointment if it fits. Optional AutoBook is separate, for an existing booking, and requires your authorisation.
