Plans change. Your instructor might not be free, your car might need work, or you may simply realise that the date you booked no longer suits. The good news is that an RSA driving test can usually be rescheduled online through MyRoadSafety, provided you follow the timing and change limits.
The short answer
Log in to MyRoadSafety, open My bookings, choose Manage Booking, then select Reschedule booking. If your test is more than 10 days away, RSA says you can normally reschedule it twice without losing your fee. A third change, or a change made within 10 days of the appointment, means applying and paying for a new test.
Rescheduling and rebooking are not quite the same
Rescheduling means moving an appointment that is already active in your account. Rebooking usually means arranging another appointment after a cancellation, a missed invitation or a test that has already taken place. The correct route depends on what MyRoadSafety currently shows.
Start by checking your booking status rather than cancelling immediately. If the Manage Booking option is available, rescheduling may let you keep the existing appointment until you confirm a replacement. If you have no active booking but remain eligible, MyRoadSafety may instead show your waiting-list or invitation status. This distinction matters because cancelling first can leave you without the date you already had.
How to reschedule your RSA driving test
- Sign in to your MyRoadSafety account.
- Open the My bookings page.
- Select Manage Booking beside your current appointment.
- Choose Reschedule booking and continue.
- Select an alternative date and time if a suitable slot is available.
- Check the details carefully before confirming.
RSA customer care cannot manage the booking by phone or email, so the change must be completed through your account. The official manage your booking guide has the latest instructions.
What if there is no suitable replacement date?
Sometimes the reschedule screen will not show a date that works. RSA advises customers in this position that they can cancel the booking. When more slots become available, RSA will send another invitation by email so you can return to MyRoadSafety and book again without losing your place in the queue.
Do not cancel casually. Check the rules shown in your account, make sure you understand the effect on your current appointment and speak to your instructor first. If the test is close, cancelling or changing it may mean paying again.
What if you missed an invitation?
If you received an invitation but did not book, RSA says you may have been removed from the invitation list. Log in to MyRoadSafety, view your waiting-list application and select Rejoin Queue if that option is shown. RSA will email you when another invitation becomes available.

Can you move to an earlier date?
