IrishDrivingTests offers earlier driving test monitoring in Ireland: choose Notify if you want to review an opening yourself, or AutoBook if you want a suitable appointment changed within the preferences you authorise. Both are separate from the official RSA booking process.
Check the booking you have before cancelling anything
Sign in to MyRoadSafety and read the status of your driving test. An active appointment, an invitation to book and an application waiting for an invitation are different stages. The options shown in your account determine what you can do next.
If you already have an appointment, start with its management options. Cancelling first is not a useful shortcut to finding something earlier: you may give up the date you already hold without having a replacement.
The RSA's booking-management guidance says you can reschedule twice without losing your fee when the test is more than 10 days away. - Find the appointment you want to move and choose Manage Booking.
- Select the available rescheduling option and review the dates and centres offered to your account.
- Check the proposed centre, date and time against your own availability before confirming.
- Keep the official confirmation and let your instructor know once the change is complete.
If your account does not offer the option you expect, use RSA support to resolve the booking status. An independent monitoring service cannot change eligibility, restore an expired invitation or remove official restrictions.
What if there is nothing earlier that suits?
Decide which dates you could actually take before widening the search. Include your preparation, the test car, work or study commitments and the journey to the centre. An earlier date is only an improvement if you can attend ready to sit the test.
Choose realistic centres as well. You may be able to consider a nearby alternative, but it should be somewhere your booking allows and where the car and travel arrangements work. Do not include a centre merely to produce more alerts.
RSA's waiting-times guidance explains that short-notice cancellations are offered through MyRoadSafety. Supply varies. Keep your existing confirmed appointment while looking for a suitable change rather than assuming an earlier date is guaranteed.

Notify suits someone who wants a message, then wants to review and make the appointment change personally. It can be useful when you need to check with an instructor or employer before accepting a date.
AutoBook suits someone who is ready to authorise a change when a suitable appointment matches their saved settings. Complete the required account setup after payment and make those preferences precise. A managed change is only useful when the dates and centres you have authorised are ones you can genuinely use.

What details are needed, and when?
Start with the preferences requested on the booking form. After payment, complete the prompted account and current-test setup so monitoring can be configured correctly. AutoBook requires its additional MyRoadSafety setup; Notify does not require your RSA sign-in details.
Do not leave a paid account incomplete and assume the preferences have been configured. Follow the setup prompts and keep your contact details current. If your availability changes, update the account before a date that no longer suits is treated as acceptable.
