Check your local test centre
Enter a centre and see whether earlier test slots have been spotted recently.
Yes. IrishDrivingTests.com's Notify plan can monitor up to three supported centres, while AutoBook supports up to five with optional booking authorisation. Adding centres can widen the appointments considered, but it only makes sense when you can genuinely attend and prepare at those locations.
A useful multi-centre search is a shortlist, not a tour of Ireland. Choose centres around your car arrangements, travel limits and confidence, then let those practical details shape the monitoring.
Start with the centre you already know
If you have lessons and a current booking at one centre, use it as the starting point. You may have practised the surrounding roads and agreed test-day car use with your instructor. Those arrangements have value even if another centre appears to have a shorter estimated wait.
Then identify one or two alternatives that would still be workable. Ask your instructor which venues they can support. Someone teaching locally may be able to offer a nearby alternative but not a centre on the other side of the county.
Use the RSA centre directory to confirm the actual venue and licence category. A town with a test centre does not necessarily offer the car-test category or booking label you need.
Give every alternative a practical reason
For each proposed centre, answer three questions: how would you get there, which car would you use and how would you prepare? If those answers are vague, leave that centre out for now.
A second centre might be useful because your instructor already covers it. Another might fit because you study or work nearby and know the area. These are better reasons than choosing a place based only on an old waiting-time figure.
You do not need to memorise every possible test route. The practical issue is whether you can attend confidently, with a compliant vehicle and enough preparation. Adding a centre should increase usable choices rather than simply increase the number of messages.
Understand monitoring versus changing the official centre
Selecting centres for independent monitoring does not, by itself, change your RSA application or existing appointment. Those official changes are managed through MyRoadSafety. Read the RSA booking-management guidance before moving an appointment.
The account must be able to book the particular opportunity. An earlier date at another venue is not proof that you are entitled to use it. Monitoring cannot remove category, eligibility or booking restrictions.
If you are considering moving your official application centre rather than simply watching alternatives, review that as a separate decision. Do not make the change based on the assumption that a monitoring selection has reserved anything.
Choose the plan around your shortlist
Our earlier driving test service offers email notifications on Notify for up to three centres. You decide whether to make a booking. AutoBook allows up to five centres and optional authorised booking under the terms.
If your workable shortlist contains two centres, the extra capacity of the larger plan is not automatically necessary. If it genuinely contains four or five, check whether you want the additional booking features as well as the wider selection.
Use the live plan selection page to compare the current one-time prices. The payment is for monitoring and the selected service features, not a guaranteed appointment at one of those centres. The RSA fee remains separate.
Keep all your preferences compatible
Centres are only one part of the search. Your earliest date, permitted days and time preference should also reflect practical attendance. A wider geographic selection does not help if every centre is paired with a date you cannot take.
For example, you might manage a nearby centre after a morning lesson but need a full day off for the alternative. If the available settings cannot express every detail of that difference, use Notify to review the opportunity carefully and keep the shortlist conservative.
Revisit the selection if your circumstances change. Remove a centre that no longer works, and add an alternative only when the car and preparation arrangements are clear. The best search is the widest realistic one, not necessarily the widest allowed.
Rank the shortlist privately before you start: first choice, workable backup and an option requiring extra preparation. You do not have to pretend they are equally convenient. With Notify, review a detected opportunity against that ranking before making the official booking. If you intend to authorise booking, make sure every selected option is acceptable under the arrangement you choose.
This is also useful when two centre names look similar. Keep the exact supported label beside the official venue information so an opportunity is assessed as the right appointment, not just a familiar-sounding area.
Multi-centre questions
How many centres can Notify monitor?
The current Notify plan supports up to three selected centres. You can choose fewer if that better reflects the locations you can attend.
Does AutoBook support more centres?
The current AutoBook plan supports up to five centres and optional booking authorisation, subject to the service terms and your setup.
Does adding a centre change my official RSA application?
No. Independent monitoring preferences and official MyRoadSafety booking details are separate. Make any official change through the appropriate RSA process.
Is it better to select every centre space available?
Not necessarily. Select centres where you can arrange the car, travel and preparation needed to attend a test.
